God wants to be known

Ever since I first became a Christian, I've wanted to witness to others. Yet, I've never found the courage to do so. I think I have finally realized why that is. It's not because I used to be a shy person. No, God can use anyone. It's because I don't fully know God. Like Francis
Schaeffer says, I believe that Christians "see the world in bits and pieces." I have to take those little bits of revelation about God, that I learn from the Bible, from other Christians, and from spending time with God, and ask Him to help me piece them together to make a
whole picture. God reveals himself slowly, and unless take time to spend with Him, I won't see that revelation. It's hard to share about a God I don't fully know. The disciple, in Acts, were so full of God's
spirit that they couldn't help but share the gospel. The Holy Spirit had revealed himself to them as a whole, and they wanted others to experience the joy that they felt. So this is my challenge to myself and others: Spend time with God. Get to know Him! God wants to be known. He needs a people who know and care about the desires of His heart. It's encouraging to note that when I do spend time with God, then other people can tell, because it is then that He makes Himself known to them through me. -Emma English
